Outline (in English)

The course offers an introduction to empirical finance for those who plan to write master's theses on finance and related topics. The class also discusses empirical results in some often-quoted finance literature to understand how those analytical methods are applied.
By the end of the course, students should be able to do the followings:
A. acquire an understanding about empirical methods needed to write theses.
B. deepen understanding of previous studies.
Students will be expected to have completed the required assignments
after each class meeting. Your study time will be more than eight hours
for a class.
Your overall grade in the class will be decided based on the following.
Class participation: 30%, Project presentation;40%, and Term paper: 30%.
