Outline (in English)

Course outline: with the globalization of the world economy, companies need to expand their business globally and utilize multinational human resources to promote their business. It is also essential for workers to understand international human resource management when considering their careers. In this course, we will consider multinational companies' utilization of global human resources based on international human resource management theory. Specifically, we will examine the characteristics of human resource management in each region and international staffing, human resource development, and compensation.
Learning objectives: by the end of this course, the attendees will be able to deepen their own knowledge on human resource management by applying the knowledge to the international or multicultural managerial environment. Also, the attendees are expected to be able to grasp the significance of cases of global human resource management being practiced all over the world.
Learning activities outside of classroom: the attendees are expected to read the materials for each class beforehand and prepare for discussions during the class. Each attendee should prepare presentations based on each chapter's assignment. In addition, each attendee should submit a term-paper after the course ends.
Grading criteria/policy: learning attitude(14%), discussion participation(28%), presentations(28%), and term-paper(30%).
