Outline (in English)
【Course outline】
Learn the characteristics of library materials and the work related to the selection, collection, storage, and collection management of library materials.
【Learning Objectives】
By the end of the course, students should be able to do the followings:
① Explain the characteristics of various materials in the library.
② Explain the role of collecting, storing, and providing materials.
③ Understand the current trends in material organizations in the library world.
④ Understand and explain related terms, laws and regulations.
【Learning activities outside of classroom】
The standard preparation and review time for this class is 2 hours. Depending on the content of the lecture, we will instruct you to investigate terms and matters in advance. Use textbooks, and reference books for preparatory learning. Also, in the review, try to organize your knowledge so that you can explain the important matters of the lesson contents by yourself.

Your overall grade in the class will be decided based on the following.
Final reportn:60%、Short reports:20％、in class contribution:20%

図書館資料の特質と、資料選択、収集、保存、蔵書管理に関わる業務について解説します。また出版流通や著作権、資料収集提供に関わる諸問題についても触れます。

①図書館における各種資料の特徴を説明できる
②資料収集、保存、提供の役割を説明できる
③現在の図書館界における資料の課題を理解できる
④関連する用語や法令、宣言などを理解し説明できる

授業形態は講義形式である。なお適宜、受講生との討論も行う。学習支援システムhoppiiを活用してレポートの提出、フィードバックを行う。また授業資料もhoppiiで配信する。

授業時間外の学習（準備学習・復習・宿題等）Work to be done outside of class (preparation, etc.)
本授業の準備・復習時間は各２時間を標準とします。講義内容に応じて、事前に用語や事項の調査を指示します。テキストや参考図書、実際の図書館を利用して準備学習をしましょう。また復習では、授業内容の重要事項を自分で説明できるように知識の整理を心がけてましょう。

平常点20％、小レポート20%，最終レポートを60%として，以下の点を評価します。
①図書館における各種資料の特徴を説明できる
②資料収集、保存、提供の役割を説明できる
③現在の図書館界における資料組織の動向を理解できる
④関連する用語や法令、宣言などを理解し説明できる
