Outline (in English)

【Course outline】The goal of this course is to provide students with the knowledge required to plan, implement and evaluate a program of public library services for children.
【Learning Objectives】　By the end of the course, students should be able to understand library services for children in public libraries from a broad perspective, and to consider the role that library services for children should play in people's lifelong learning and enjoyment.
【Learning activities outside of classroom】 Before each class meeting, students will be expected to have read the relevant chapters from the text, and submit a report on the assigned topic by the due date.
【Grading Criteria /Policy】 Final grade will be calculated according to the following process Mid-term report (70%), term-end report (30 %), and in-class contribution.

授業の概要と目的（何を学ぶか）Outline and objectives

公共図書館の専門職として司書が持つべき児童サービスについての知識の習得を目指す。公共図書館における子どものための図書館サービスについて広い視野から理解し、人々の生涯に渡る学習と楽しみのために子どものための図書館サービスが果たすべき役割について考える。

到達目標Goal

(1)図書館サービスの対象者である「子ども」について知る。
(2)「子ども」向けの図書館資料について知る。
(3)「子ども」と資料とを結びつける活動の企画や実施、評価方法について知る。
(4)地域や学校などとの協働活動について知る。

授業の進め方と方法Method(s)（学期の途中で変更になる場合には、別途提示します。 /If the Method(s) is changed, we will announce the details of any changes. ）

教科書および関連する文献を読み、与えられたテーマで期日までにレポートを提出する。
翌週までに講師からのコメントを受け取り、指定された時間にやり取りの過程で生じた疑問点や考察したことをディスカッションする。提出物に対するフィードバックは学習支援システムを通じて行う。
