Outline (in English)

(Course outline)
Based on the calculus and linear algebra learned in the first year, this course explores more advanced mathematical topics necessary for specialized study and research in life sciences. Specifically, it covers the fundamentals of differential equations and Fourier analysis, as well as examples of their application in the field of life sciences.

(Learning Objectives)
The goals of this course are to understand the relationship between phenomena and differential equations, and to acquire the skills to solve simple differential equations. Additionally, students will learn to perform calculations with Fourier series and Fourier transforms.

(Learning activities outside of classroom)
Review the lecture content before the next week's lecture. Before/after each class meeting, students will be expected to spend four hours to understand the course content.

(Grading Criteria /Policy)
Your overall grade in the class will be decided based on the following:
Short reports 70%, In-class activities 30%.
