Outline (in English)

【Course Outline】
In this class, you will learn about the basic ideas of international relations and various issues related to international relations from the perspective of international politics.

International relations studies began after World War I with questions related to the issue of ``war and peace,'' such as why tragic wars occurred and why wars could not be prevented. Initially, the focus was on the ``security'' of the ``nation'', but now the scope has expanded to include the security of ordinary people. In this lecture, we will first review the perspective of international relations, and then the first half will cover various issues related to national security, and the second half will cover issues such as climate change, immigration, consumption, and the media. Through classes, we aim to learn how our daily lives are related to what is happening in the world and develop our own perspectives.

In preparation, it is advisable to try to pay attention to current events on a regular basis, and especially check the news related to the class content (about 2 hours in total before each class). During the review, check the syllabus that will be distributed, summarize it, and write a comment sheet (about 2 hours in total after each review session).

【Learning Objectives】

2. Students will acquire basic knowledge about various issues in international society and will be able to explain the points at issue.
