Outline (in English)

1. Course outline:
We will teach the fundamentals of logic operations, Boolean Algebra, Gray Code, Karnaugh Map, logic gates, flip-flops, finite state machine, and their use in implementing digital circuits.
2. Learning Objectives:
Students will learn how to use AND gates, OR gates, and NOT gates to design combinational circuits and sequential circuits. The combinational circuits include the full adder, subtracter, carry-lookahead adder, multiplier, Wallace Tree, multiplexer, demultiplexer, barrel shifter, ALU (Arithmetic Logic Unit), decoder, and priority encoder. The sequential circuits include latches, flip-flops, register files, counters, and a traffic light system.
3. Learning activities outside of the classroom:
Students will be expected to spend more than four hours studying each theme per week.
4. Grading Criteria/Policy:
Grades are calculated based on homework (60%) and the final exam (40%).
