Outline (in English)

The purpose of this course is, through practical exercises, to acquire comprehensive basic skills in basic operations on matrices of linear algebra, solving simultaneous linear equations using matrices, and the fundamentals and applications of calculus for real functions. The goal is to be able to freely perform the following calculations using the basic knowledge of linear algebra and calculus that students are currently learning.
1. Basic matrix calculations
2. Solving simultaneous linear equations
3. Basic calculus for simple functions
4. Drawing graphs of several simple functions
5. Representing several functions by Taylor expansion and series

To develop an understanding of linear algebra and calculus, it is necessary to improve basic knowledge and basic calculation skills. In the classroom, we will provide practical assignments on these exercises in cooperation with the lectures on "Introduction to Linear Algebra" and "Introduction to Calculus". According to the levels of understanding and importance, appropriate explanations will be provided from assignments, examinations, and questions. Materials will be distributed and submitted through the "learning support system". Students will be expected to work for more than one hour per class.

"Pass or Fail" grading is adopted, based on the grades from assignments of preparation and review, several reports and quizzes, and in-class contribution (100%).
