Outline (in English)

Based on the prerequisite course, Basics of Linear Algebra, we improve our basic understanding of linear algebra through practical exercises to calculate eigenvalues and eigenvectors toward the goal of this course, as shown below.
1. Understanding the basic concepts of vector spaces and their subspaces.
2. Studying the basics necessary knowledge for natural science and engineering.

The standard amount of study outside of classroom time for this class is 4 hours per week. In each class meeting, not only the explanation of mathematical formulas but also several basic practical examples will be presented. In addition, exercises will be used together to deepen understanding. To understand the calculation method and develop the calculation ability, useful assignments for preparation and review are given every time.

Distributing and submitting materials will be done through the "learning support system". In addition, we will provide appropriate explanations and feedback from the assignments and exam questions according to the degree of understanding and importance.

Grading will be decided based on the term-end examination (50%), and the grades for assignments of preparation and review, reports, quizzes, and in-class contribution (50%).
