Outline (in English)

During the fall semester, the doctoral candidate will learn, through different course works in the form of lectures and discussion, about a wide variety of research fields presented by their respective specialists. To deepen the acquired knowledge, each instructor will expose their particular goals, methodology, and data analysis. In response, the candidates will discuss on their own research works in light of concepts and methodology unfamiliar to them, and will be given critiques and advices from points of view that differs from their advisors'. Development and reinforcement of skills conducive to an active discussion is expected from the candidate.
Read the materials presented by each instructor beforehand. Also, summarize your own research in a 15-minute talk.
Understanding of the materials, responses to questions (70%), and the content of the report (30%) will be evaluated comprehensively.
Criteria for evaluation will be the level of understanding of one's research theme, including background and developmental potential, and the attitude and ability to develop the research by incorporating knowledge and techniques from other fields.
