Outline (in English)

(Course outline)
This course introduces how to formulate a given problem as an optimization problem, and how to find optimal or suboptimal solutions by constructing heuristics or by making use of software.

(Learning Objectives)
The goal of this course is to cultivate the basic skills to construct optimization models appropriately and solve problems in various situations of science and engineering.

(Learning activities outside of classroom)
The homework is to address unsolved exercises and deepen understanding of the associated notions or methodologies.

(Grading Criteria /Policy)
The grading is based on the two reports (60%) and questions and answers in classroom (40%).
