Outline (in English)

This course deals with telescopes and astronomical instruments and introduces what kind of information about the astronomical objects and universe can be obtained from astronomical observations. The goals of this course are to understand how telescope and astronomical instruments work, what information can be derived from basic observations such as imaging and spectroscopy, and important concepts related to the astronomical observations. Students will be expected to learn each topic from references and review the topic before each class meeting. Grading will be decided based on in-class report and discussion.
