Outline (in English)
To extract useful information from various observations, appropriate processing of the observed signals is necessary. The purpose of this lecture is to deepen understanding of both theory and implementation of processing applied to observed signals.
【Goal】
Upon completion of this lecture, students will be able to (i) explain appropriately various methods of regression analysis, dimensionality reduction techniques, and cluster analysis, (ii) write down their program codes without relying on libraries.
【Learning Activities Outside of Classroom】
The standard time to spend preparing and reviewing this lesson is 4 hours. In particular, students are encouraged to spend time on assignments and reviews to improve their knowledge in the class.
【Grading Criteria /Policy】
Students are evaluated based on the semester final assignment (60%), the homework assignments (30%), and attitude (10%).

授業の概要と目的（何を学ぶか）Outline and objectives
様々な観測から有益な情報を抽出するためには、観測信号に対する適切な処理が必要となる。この講義では、観測された信号に施す処理について、理論と実装の両面を学び理解を深めることを目的とする。
到達目標Goal
(i)回帰分析、次元削減手法、クラスター分析の様々な手法について、適切に説明をすることができる。(ii)それらのプログラムコードをライブラリに頼ることなく書き下すことができる。
