Outline (in English)

This class aims at developing students' basic knowledge of accurately constructing English sentences leading to writing paragraphs and essays in which students develop the foundations of academic writing. Attention will be paid to not merely translating to English, but to developing the awareness and skill of writing in a more English-like way, finding and researching good topics, and content-based writing. Classes are leveled and enrollment held to approximately 20 students in order to maximize teaching effectiveness.

Learning Objectives: By the end of this class, students should be able to write a well-organized, effective paragraph or essay based on the ability to gather and organize information.


Learning activities outside of classroom:
Students will be expected to do regular homework which includes writing a diary entry each week and writing rough drafts for 5 essays.

Grading Criteria:
In-class activities (10%),Diary writing assignment (20%), Writing assignments 1-4 (50%) Final writing assignment and presentation (20%)最
