Outline (in English)

(Course outline)
Learn the concepts and applications of linear mapping, eigenvalues / eigenvectors, etc., which are the basis of mathematics necessary in various fields of science and engineering.

(Learning Objectives)
At the end of the course, students are expected to understand the following.
1) Vector space and its dimension
2) Linear mapping and related topics (kernel, image, and matrix representation)
3) Matrix eigenvalue and eigenvector
4) Matrix diagonalization (including symmetric matrices)
5) Orthogonal transformation

(Learning activities outside of classroom)
Before/after each class meeting, students will be expected to spend four hours to understand the course content.
Students are encouraged to prepare for the textbook and solve the exercises (or assignments) corresponding to the previous lesson.

(Grading Criteria)
Grade evaluation will be based on the final exam. For those who fail the final exam, adjustments may be made based on the total score of the Take-home tests.
