Outline (in English)

As a basis for measurement and control, the concept of system modelling teaches the Laplace transform, which is one of the most important elements to analyse. In this course, students learn from an introduction to Laplace transforms, block diagram representation and system modelling, stability analysis and feedback control, with the support of basic design tools using MATLAB.

[Learning/educational objective].
The objective is to learn the fundamentals of block diagrams and Laplace transforms as the basis of measurement and control.
To understand the mathematical principles of block diagrams and Laplace transforms and to be able to explain the properties of signals in the Laplace domain.
Understand the operation of system modelling using MATLAB and Simulink, both in theory and practice of block diagram visualisation.
[Preparatory study and study notes]
After each class, the prescribed assignments and a comprehensive mini-test will be given. The minimum study time is 4 hours per class.
[Grading criteria/policy]
The overall class grade will be based on the following items.
Final examination Small report and comprehensive mini-test: 60%: 40%.
