Outline (in English)

"Quantity" is the basics of science and technology and also daily lives. This course introduces units and standards which support "quantities", and deals with the state-of-the-art science and technology of standards, as well as measuements on our surroundings and universe. The goals of this course are to understand the meaning and basic principle of counting and measurement, and recognize this principle to be the backbone of scientific behavior. Students will be expected to review the previous lecture before each class meeting. Grading will be decided based on term-end report (50%) and in-class contribution (including in-class tests: 50%).
