Outline (in English)

【授業の概要(Course outline)】
This course introduces the following subjects:
-Modeling of dynamical system
-Laplace transform and transfer function
-Time response of linear system
-Frequency response
-Stability criterion
-Feedback control

【到達目標(Learning Objectives)】
By the end of the course, students should be able to do the followings:
1. You can understand the principle of operation of a mechanical system, and can express it to a block diagram.
2. You can understand equivalent conversion of a block diagram.
3. You can perform Laplace transform and inverse Laplace transform using the Laplace transform table.
4. You can derive the transfer function of a mechanical system, a fluidic system, an electrical system, and a heat system.
5. You can calculate time responses such as an impulse response and a step response.
6. You can understand the response in a frequency domain, and meaning of a vector locus and a Bode plot.
7. You can understand the Routh's stability criterion and Nyquist criterion.
8. You can understand the principle of feedback control, and can explain PID control.

【授業時間外の学習(Learning activities outside of classroom)】
After each class meeting, students will be expected to review the course content.
Your study time will be more than four hours for a class.

【成績評価の方法と基準(Grading Criteria /Policy)】
Final grade will be calculated according to the following process
Short reports in class and reports (20%), and term-end examination (80%)
