Outline (in English)

This course provides an overview of the field of psychology that seeks to understand human behavior from a physiological standpoint. Building upon foundational knowledge of the structure and function of the nervous system, students will explore how important indicators of central and peripheral nervous system activity are and are utilized in psychological research. Emphasis will be also placed on gaining practical experience with using basic measurement techniques, allowing students to develop research plans and cultivate a perspective on leveraging physiological indicators in psychological inquiry.
Students will be expected to have enough time (more than four hours per a class) for preparation and review. Active engagement and participation in class discussions, activities, and exercises will contribute significantly to the overall assessment (40%). For the final assessment, students are required to submit a brief research proposal for a psychological study with physiological indicators (60%).
