Outline (in English)
Through the understanding of basic theories of human and urban geography, students will understand regional characteristics of urban areas.
Students are expected to understand and explain basic theories in Urban Geography. With an interest in urban problems, students will think about the characteristics of urban areas.
Face-to face lecture and discussion.
Read related articles, papers, or books which are listed in the references of the handouts for classes. Plus, students are expected to go to urban areas to observe urban changes explained in the classes.
No textbook. I provide references in the handout of each class.
Examination (80%), reflection paper and class attitude (20%).

人文地理学、特に都市地理学における基礎的な理論を理解し、都市的地域の特性を理解する。

人文地理学、特に都市地理学における基礎的な理論を理解し、説明できる。都市的地域が抱える課題に関心をもって、都市の特性を考えることができる。
