Outline (in English)

This course is a part of the field of natural geography related to hydrology (especially groundwater and hot springs). The first half of this class will focus on tracer hydrology, a method of studying the movement and origin of groundwater using water temperature, water quality, isotopes, and other indicators, while the second half will cover topics related to hot springs in Japan and related issues. Before/after each class meeting, students will be expected to spend two hours to understand the course content. Grading will be decided based on mid-term and term-end examination (70%), and assignments and reports (30%).
