Outline (in English)

The objective of this course is to get the view for present economic performance of Japan as referring the figures of basic economic indicators; GDP, Price indices, and, etc., get statistical differences among the macroeconomic statistical indicators ;nominal GDP, and real GDP and, several price indices, etc., and understand tables of System of National Accounts(S.N.A). Moreover, the multiplier effect of Governmental Expenditure on GDP could be understand, based on simple Keynesian model.
The goals of this course are
to understand definitions of the macroeconomic statistical indicators; indicators GDP related; nominal GDP, real GDP, and, GDP deflator, etc.
to understand the definitions of price indices, and the way of constructing price indices.
to get the whole image for System of National Accounts(S.N.A)
and, to understanding the multiplier effect of Public Spending on GDP, using numerical example, based on simple Keynesian model.
After each class meeting, students will be expected to spend more than 2 hours to follow numerical examples to help understanding many definitions of macroeconomic indicators: several GDPs, price indices and, and to help understanding simple Keynesian model.
Your overall grade in the class will be decided, based on the following,
End-term examination : 90% Mid-term report : 10% .
