Outline (in English)

[Course outline]
The Civil Code regulates the relationship between rights and obligations in property by dividing it into the Law of Property Rights, which relates to the relationship between persons and property, and the Law of Obligations, which relates to the relationship between persons and persons. Furthermore, the rules common to these rights and obligations relationships are extracted and stipulated at the beginning of the Civil Code as the 'General Provisions'. Together, these are referred to as the 'law of property', and the subject of this lecture is the first part of this 'law of property', the 'general provisions'.
[Learning Objectives]
The objective of this course is for students to acquire specialised knowledge of jurisprudence, an academic discipline related to economics, and to acquire the ability to analyse it from multiple perspectives and theoretically. Specifically, the following two points are addressed. (i) To acquire basic knowledge of the general rules of civil law. (ii) To be able to interpret and apply each article of the General Provisions of the Civil Code to cases in order to solve basic problems.
[earning activities outside of classroom]
Before/after each class, students will be expected to spend 2 hours each to understand the course content.
[Grading Criteria /Policy]
Grades are based on review assignments after each class and an examination at the end of the semester. The ratio of points for each is 50% for the review assignment and 50% for the examination. Quizzes will be given during class time. The grades from these quizzes will be taken into account in the event that the grades from the above methods are less than 60 points.
