Outline and objectives

This course mainly focuses on listening and speaking skills, covering a variety of topics. Alongside these main focus areas, it also includes brief exercises in reading and writing to provide a more comprehensive language learning experience.

Objective:

To Engage Students: Motivate and engage students through relevant and interesting topics.

To Develop Critical Thinking Skills.

To Enhance Academic Skills: Prepare students to use English for academic courses and real-world usage.

Goal

Incorporate 21st Century Skills: Equip students with key skills such as reading online materials, note-taking, oral summarization, discussion, and presentation.

Align with GSE Learning Outcomes: Focus on outcomes based on the Global Scale of English, emphasizing skill application.

Boost English Fluency: Improve listening and speaking skills.

Expand Vocabulary: Learn new words and deepen understanding of current vocabulary.

The course will utilize a textbook as the primary resource. Classroom activities will encompass various interactive elements, including:

Short Video Analysis: Students will watch and then give their opinions on short videos.

Pair and Group Discussions: Engage in discussions on relevant topics to enhance speaking and listening skills.

Vocabulary Development: Targeted exercises to expand and deepen vocabulary knowledge.

Students will receive feedback both in-class sessions and through Google Classroom to ensure consistent progress and understanding.
