Outline (in English)

(Course outline) Studying and researching at university is very different from studying up to high school. The most important point is that you are not given questions, but rather find and answer them yourself. To do this, you need to learn how to be interested, acquire background knowledge, and how to come up with and narrow down your questions. In addition, in order to answer that question and give it form in a report or graduation thesis, you need to know how to collect specialized information (how to research literature and internet information) and be careful, how to take notes, how to provide quotations and sources, how to create a resume, etc. You will also need to learn how to write reports, as well as the etiquette and systematization of arguments. This seminar will cover these topics.
(Learning Objectives) At first, the course is based on a lecture, and in the second half, students actually set their own questions, write a report to answer them, and give a presentation for about 15 to 20 minutes (depending on the number of participants) in turn. The presentation can be done by distributing the report itself in paper form for each person, or by projecting it on slides (slides can be live copies of paper media, or in PDF or PPT format). Make sure that each person wins once, and grade them based on their report, presentation, and after-action report. Therefore, students will be required to submit two reports: a presentation report and a post-event report. I will also take notes on questions and answers about other students' presentations and incorporate them into my regular score. Feedback from instructors regarding students' presentation reports and individual questions will be sent via internal messages to each student.
(Learning activities outside of Classroom) During the lecture format, students will spend one hour reviewing their notes on the lecture content and reviewing actual examples. Also, when making a presentation, it takes several hours to prepare a report for the presentation, and several hours to write a post-event report.
(Grading Criteria/Policy)
The evaluation method is
・Normal point: 40%
・Report and presentation at presentation: 30%
・Final report: 30%
Those who present later will be in an advantageous position by learning from the earlier presentators, so I will add a some points to the earlier presentators (of course, those who present later can also get a perfect score depending on the evaluation content).
