Outline (in English)

This course aims to teach how to understand the diversity of representations of Native American culture critically. Learning how to do this requires that you examine media content and texts closely and read critical essays on them with the guidance of the lecturer, as well as through discussions with your classmates.

By learning backgrounds of the literary and critical texts about ethnic minority communities in the United States, students will understand how literary imagination contributes to solving social problems.

Learning activities outside of classroom:
Before/after each class meeting, students are expected to spend 2 hours respectively to understand the course content.

Grading shall be as follows:
1) Class presentation (50%)
2) Term paper (50%)
