Outline (in English)
In this class, we will first acquire not only knowledge about social topics but also vocabulary and expressions. After reading the text, we will engage in discussions and group work.
Before each class meeting, students will be expected to have read the relevant chapter(s) from the text. Your required study time is at least one hour for each class meeting.
Your overall grade in the class will be decided based on the following:
Term-end examination or final report: 70%、in class contribution: 30%

この授業では、まず社会的な話題に関しての知識のほか語彙や表現を身につけ、テキストを読んだ後にディスカッションやグループワークを行います。

《重要》
「英語表現演習（Writing）」(5)(6)(7)(8)、「英語表現演習（Speaking）」(5)(6)(7)(8)、「英語表現演習（翻訳）」(1)(2)と「Academic Writing」の春学期秋学期科目合わせて22科目については、英文学科指定の「定員」が設定されています。また、「事前抽選」を実施します。詳細はガイダンスおよび掲示で案内します。抽選が４月初頭（初回授業日よりも前）に実施されるので、必ず期日内に申請してください。基本的に、春学期と秋学期をセットで履修することになり、秋学期の科目も春学期に申請する必要があります。
「事前抽選結果」発表時には、定員に空きのある科目のリストも掲示します。それらの科目の履修を希望する場合は、必ず春学期の初回授業に出席してください。担当教員が選抜を行う場合があります。
※ 「英語表現演習（総合）」に関しては、別途「事前登録」が実施されるので、履修希望者は期日内（４月初頭）にそちらに申請をしてください。
※ ２年次クラス指定の「英語表現演習（Writing）」(1)(2)(3)、「英語表現演習（Speaking）」(1)(2)(3)に関しては、事前抽選および選抜はありません。
