Outline (in English)

This speaking course develops fundamental analytical skills to help students design a cohesive and persuasive argument. Students practice exploring background issues in order to understand the context of a topic and to gather relevant reliable data to support their argument and arrange information logically. Each unit leads the student through language-rich and thought-provoking written, audio, and video content to assist the student to acquire in-depth knowledge of the issue while developing listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills essential for developing and expressing lines of reasoning.

このスピーキングコースでは、まとまりのある説得力のある議論を設計するための基本的な分析力を養います。トピックの背景を理解し、議論を裏付ける信頼できるデータを収集し、情報を論理的に整理するために、背景となる問題を探求する練習をします。各ユニットでは、豊富な言語と示唆に富んだ文章、音声、ビデオコンテンツを通して、生徒が問題についての深い知識を身につけながら、推論を展開し表現するために不可欠なリスニング、スピーキング、リーディング、ライティングのスキルを身につけられるようサポートします。

このコースでは、リスニングやリーディングの練習を含む様々な活動を通して、批判的・論理的思考法を学び、ディスカッションやディベートで効果的に自分の意見を述べる高度なスキルを身につけます。時事問題や社会問題を題材としたディスカッションやディベートを通して、以下のような議論の戦術を用いながら、複数の論証スタイルを学びます：

In this course, you will learn critical and logical thinking techniques through various activities including listening and reading exercises and develop advanced skills in presenting your opinion effectively in discussion and debate.
