Outline (in English)

We will learn about ① what constitutes a civil society, what is necessary to build and maintain a sound civil society, ② what politics entails, and what is required for citizens to engage in politics, and ③ the relationship between civil society and politics. We will consider how politics functions (or doesn't) and acquire methodologies and knowledge to participate in politics as a citizen, with the goal of contributing to the creation of a sound society.

The preparation and review time for each session will be standardized to two hours. The submission of reaction papers after each class will be required. Homework may be assigned as needed. While a specific textbook will not be designated, reading relevant reference materials is encouraged. Recommended readings will also be introduced during the classes, so please consider exploring them if possible.
Students will be evaluated based on regular participation (15%), reaction papers (40%), and the final report (45%). Furthermore, as a general rule, individuals who are absent for four or more sessions due to personal reasons will not be evaluated for their grades (individual consultations will be considered for unavoidable circumstances).
