Outline (in English)

【Course outline】
This class is a donation course sponsored by the Union (Japan Trade Union Confederation) and the Education and Culture Association. Each time, we invite labor union officials who are active on the front lines of the workplace as guest lecturers to give lectures on the activities of the labor union with examples. Lectures will be given with company information and industry information, such as finding the meaning of work, improving the working environment and working conditions, and making colleagues in the workplace. In the changing work environment, the career design of workers is also shaking. What difficulties do the people working in it have, and what role does the union play? We will think together while listening to the stories of labor union officials from various positions.
【Learning Objectives】
Students are expected to understand deeply the changes in the workplace and the issues involved in working in a safe and secure environment.
They are also expected to acquire practical knowledge of companies and industries, labor laws, and social support.
【Learning activities outside of classroom】
A total of 14 lecture outlines will be distributed at the time of the first class. Use it to do some preliminary research on companies, industries, and trade unions. The standard preparatory study and review time for this class is 2 hours each.
【Grading Criteria /Policy】
In-class contributions (including comments): 50%
Term-end report: 50%.
