Outline (in English)
【Course outline】
Understanding the social environment, especially the labor market situation, is extremely important in shaping your career. Therefore, in this lecture, we will use standard textbooks on labor economics to learn about the current status of Japan's labor market from both theory and reality. In addition, students will learn about the content and how to use statistical data that is effective in researching career development, which will deepen their understanding.
【Learning Objectives】
The goal of this class is to be able to understand the fundamental theories of labor economics. We also aim to help students understand the content of representative data on the labor market and how to use it, as well as to be able to apply this information in building their future careers.

Before each class meeting, students will be expected to have read the relevant chapter(s) from the text. Your required study time is at least one hour for each class meeting.
【Grading Criteria /Policy】
Your overall grade in the class will be decided based on the following
Term-end examination: 60%, Short reports: 40%

授業の概要と目的（何を学ぶか）Outline and objectives
自分を取り巻く社会環境、特に労働市場の状況を理解することは、キャリアを形成する上で非常に重要となります。そこで、この講義では労働経済に関する標準的なテキストを利用しながら、現在の日本の労働市場の状況を理論と現実の双方から学んでいきます。なお、授業の中ではキャリア形成を研究するうえで有効な統計データの内容や扱い方についても学習し、理解を深めていきます。
到達目標Goal
労働経済に関する基礎的な理論を理解できるようになることを到達目標とします。また、労働市場に関する代表的なデータの内容やその利用方法を理解し、今後のキャリア形成を行っていく上でそれらの情報を応用できるようになることも目指します。

授業では、テキストに基づいた授業資料(PPT)を用い、毎回一つのトピックスに関する理論とデータを紹介します。労働経済に関する理論では数式を使わずにその内容を直感的に説明します。また、データでは政府統計等を用い、現実の労働市場の現状をさまざまな視点から説明していきます。なお、毎回の授業の冒頭に前回の授業の復習を行います。

企業の最適労働需要モデルを説明。

失業の種類、実際に動向、失業の経験法則について説明。

雇用調整係数について説明。

情報探索コストが労働市場に及ぼす影響や雇用主が労働者を監視する上で発生するコストについて説明。

人口構造・競争構造・意識の変化について説明。
第12回[対面/face to face]：賃金と労働時間の経済分析
日本の賃金と労働時間がどのように変化してきたのかを理論とデータの側面から説明。
第13回[対面/face to face]：女性労働力
結婚・出産前後の女性就業の変化を中心にその実態を説明。
第14回[対面/face to face]：高齢者雇用の経済分析
高齢者雇用の実態とその直面する課題を説明。

事前学習として、次回授業の教科書の章を読み、内容を把握するようにしましょう。復習として、もう一度授業で扱った章を読み、インターネット等で関連する内容を調べてみましょう。さらに、教科書の練習問題に挑戦してみましょう。
