(Course Outline)
In environmental conservation, it is important to consider ways to balance solutions to the issues facing local communities, such as the aging of the population and regional revitalization. This class will review research trends on specific issues in local communities and discuss the ways to practice in the field. Students will learn how to propose solutions to environmental conservation and the issues based on the local realities through case studies.

(Learning Objectives)
Students should be able to do the followings:
- To explain issues facing local communities, such as the aging of the population and regional revitalization.
- To propose solutions to environmental conservation and the issues based on the local realities through case studies.

(Learning Activities Outside of Classroom)
Reading literature. Preparing for presentations of fieldwork and case studies. The standard preparation and review time for this class is 2 hours each.

(Grading Criteria/Policy)
Regular Work (30%) + Literature Review (20%) + Fieldwork (20%) + Case Study (30%).
