Course Outline
The main themes of this course are "technology" and "design," which are necessary to realize the principles of symbiosis between humans and the environment, and between humans and humans. The aim of this course is to cultivate the thinking and communication skills necessary to form a collaborative network that contributes to society. Specifically, the course will include a close reading of academic literature on technology and design theory, as well as discussion and dialogue on the topics covered in the literature review. Each student will be free to set his/her own theme and will have the opportunity to collect and present information as well as to facilitate the dialogue.

Learning Objectives
The goal of this course is to (1) acquire specialized knowledge about the role that technology and design play in modern society and, in the process, (2) acquire basic skills for reading academic literature. In addition, through discussions (or dialogues) on the themes covered in the literature reading, the course aims to (3) enable students to think critically about the roles played by technology and design, and in the process, (4) develop basic skills for discussion and dialogue, such as expressing one's own ideas, listening to others' ideas, and thinking together with others.
