Outline (in English)

This lecture course is designed to introduce a variety of cases that people are intended to promote sustainability, and provide opportunities for students to think critically about socio-cultural dimensions of "sustainability." The main goal of this course is to help students to obtain basic knowledge of environmental anthropology and also to develop critical thinking skills by asking questions which require them to apply course materials and lectures for their own thoughts on sustainability and logically explain them to others.

Students will be expected to take two exams in addition to submit weekly commentaries by the deadline. A study time for a class on average is four hours. A final grade will be based on mid-term and final exams (70%) and weekly commentaries (30%).
