Outline (in English)

●Course outline
①Urban design involves a collaborative effort where diverse individuals come together to design and realize cities. This lecture will explore the significance and process of "participation and collaboration" through real-world examples.
②It will investigate the mindset and methods for citizens to actively engage and take ownership in urban environments.
③The course aims to understand the backgrounds and values of those involved in urban design and to develop one's own set of values.

●Learning Objectives
①Learn about the motivations, processes, and methods of evaluating urban design, enhancing insight into urban environments.
②Acquire specific ways to engage in urban design, raising awareness of one's role as a member of the urban community.
③Deeply understand the background and values behind urban design, establishing criteria for evaluating cities based on these insights.

●Learning activities outside of classroom
You are expected to prepare and review the materials introduced in each lecture.
You are expected to understand the outline of each case in advance by referring to the Internet.
The standard preparation and review time for this class is 2 hours each.

●Grading Criteria /Policy
Report (40%), submission of class impressions (30%), presentation of opinions in class (30%)
