Outline (in English)

【Course outline】
This course aims to provide students with the basic knowledge of labor law necessary to develop an autonomous career. The role of labor law is to protect workers who are in a relatively weaker position compared to employers and to realize the principle of equality between workers and employers, and it is a law that all workers should know. It is important for all workers to have a basic knowledge of labor law before starting their careers, so that they can protect themselves.

【Learning Objectives】
Students will be able to legally explain various labor-related issues in their daily lives through acquiring a basic knowledge of labor law.

【Learning activities outside of classroom】
At the end of each lecture, students will be given instructions on how to prepare for the next lecture (e.g., the relevant pages in the textbook). Please follow the instructions and read the relevant sections carefully before attending the lecture.

When students review the lectures, they should not only read through the resumes and textbooks, but also make sure that they fully understand the content of the precedents introduced in the lectures.

The standard preparation and review time for this class is 2 hours each.

【Grading Criteria /Policy】
The quiz given in each class (multiple choice/fill-in-the-blank type questions to check understanding of basic laws and regulations and important judicial precedents) will be 30%, and the final exam will be 70%.
