Outline (in English)

Course Outline: The lecture introduces the history of the Japanese language. We will use several handouts to be distributed in class.
Learning Objectives: Students deepen their understanding of Japanese (past, present, and future).
Learning Activities Outside of the Classroom: Use the library and read as many books related to the history of Japanese as you can. As preparation and review of the class, students will be expected to spend about 2 hours to understand the course content.
Grading Criteria/Policy: Your overall grade in the class will be decided based on the following: short report at each class meeting (50%); long report at the last class meeting (50%).
