Outline (in English)

【Course outline】
In this course, we will study parts of Thomas Aquinas's book, "Summa Theologiae," which discusses the human soul and intellectual cognition. Our main goal is to help students better understand what it means to be human in a theistic worldview and how humans interact with the world around them.
【Learning Objectives】
By the end of the course, students should comprehend the fundamental concepts of medieval philosophy and be able to articulate them in their own words. Additionally, they should deepen their awareness of their own issues through discussions with others.
【Learning activities outside of classroom】
Before each class meeting, it is expected that students will have read the pertinent chapter from the textbook. The individual in charge will create a summary of the chapter after reading it carefully. You are required to dedicate at least four hours to studying for a class.
【Grading Criteria /Policy】
Your overall grade in the class will be decided based on the following
Term-end report: 40%, Contents of presentation as person in charge: 30%, in-class contribution: 30%
