Outline (in English)

What would Kant's philosophical thoughts tell us about the sustainability of humankind? In this regard we read and discuss the following small works of Kant: What is Enlightenment? Idea for a Universal History from a Cosmopolitan Point of View, Conjectural beginning of human history, The End of All Things, Toward Perpetual Peace. In the present age global warming, global population explosion, successive wars and pandemics of infectious diseases, and other phenomena pose a serious threat to the sustainability of the human race. Therefor we will examine whether there is any prescription for these threats and what the meaning of human existence is in the first place, from the perspective of the philosophy presented by Kant.
