Outline (in English)

The content of this course is the basic part of "Learning Philosophy While Thinking". In each class, we will take up a theme that is familiar to us and learn the basic philosophical ideas related to that theme. Familiar themes include love and beauty, animal welfare and environmental protection, how to deal with fate, and the existence of evil, as described in the lesson plan.
By the end of the course, students should be able to do the followings:
A. While acquiring knowledge of philosophy, students will be able to give their explanations.
B. Students will be able to formulate, think about, and discuss philosophical issues regarding various everyday events.
C. Through discussion, students can learn about the existence of diverse opinions and deepen their thinking.
Before/after each class meeting, students will be expected to spend four hours to understand the course content.
Your overall grade in the class will be decided based on the following.
Term-end examination: 60%、Short reports and in class contribution: 40%.
