Outline (in English)

【Course outline】
Trust has been used as a type of asset management system, mainly in financial transactions. In addition, its use is also expanding in civil matters, such as inheritance planning and property management for the elderly.
【Learning Objectives】
This course introduces perceptions, structures, rights and obligations of trust parties, and business practices. At the end of this course, students are expected to understand (i) the laws on trust, which has its origin in Angle-American law, and (ii) its modern significance and challenges in the fields of commercial and family transactions.
【Learning activities outside of classroom】
Before each class meeting, students will be expected to have read the relevant handout distributed through HPPPII previously. Before / after each class meeting, students will be expected to spend two hours to understand the course content.
【Grading Criteria/Policy】
Grading will be decided based on mid-term report (20%), end-term report (50%) and in-class contribution (30%).
