Outline (in English)

【授業の概要(Course outline)】In this course, students will deepen their understanding of the significance and role of physical activity, and develop through lectures and practical training the acquisition of basic knowledge and attitudes that contribute to the maintenance and promotion of physical, physical, and social health and self-management throughout life.
【到達目標(Learning Objectives)】
(1) Deepen their understanding of the significance and roles of physical activity from various perspectives.
(2) Students will acquire the ability to use sports activities as a means to establish a rich and healthy student life and social life.
(3) Students will acquire basic knowledge and develop attitudes that contribute to self-management.
(4) Acquire the ability to exercise leadership and solve problems through communication with others, which is considered extremely important for students to be active in the real world after graduation.
(5) Acquire various skills that will lead to the development of employability (e.g., the ability to build trusting relationships and act in collaboration).
【授業時間外の学習(Learning activities outside of classroom)】Students are expected to be physically and mentally prepared for the class so that they will not be physically or mentally deficient during the physical activities in class.
In addition, students should follow the instructions of the instructor for each class regarding assignments to be done after class and preparation for the next class.
It is recommended that students allow two hours each for preparation and review for this class.
【成績評価の方法と基準(Grading Criteria /Policy)】Assignments (reaction papers, quizzes, reports, etc.) to be worked on during each class session will be allocated 60%, final reports will be allocated 20%, and class participation will be allocated 20%. Absence or tardiness will result in a lower grade. If attendance is less than 2/3 of the class sessions, the student will receive an E grade because it is considered to be less than the number of hours completed to earn credits.
