Outline (in English)

This course provides a firm foundation in basic cellular biology with an emphasis on eukaryotic cells. Topics include Cell Structure, Cell Function, Cellular Organization, Cellular Communication, Cell Division, and Cell Biology in Health and Disease. Students are evaluated based on two presentation assignments and two essays. Upon completing the cell biology course, students will gain a comprehensive understanding of cellular structures, functions, and interactions, equipping them with the knowledge and skills to analyze complex biological processes and apply this understanding to diverse fields such as medicine and biotechnology. There is a quiz every week about the contents covered in the previous session, so students must go over the past lectures regularly. In addition, students must read academic articles outside class to prepare essays and presentations. Final grades are calculated based on: presentations (40%), essays (40%), and participation (20%). Participation includes the completion of response sheets and quiz results.
