Outline (in English)

[Course outline]
This course aims to foster the fundamental knowledge of immunology. You will learn the molecular mechanisms of innate and adaptive immunity and the role and differentiation pathway of immune cells. You will also learn the pathogenesis of immune-related disorders, the mechanisms of therapies targeting immune system and basic principles of techniques for researches in immunology and medical science.

[Learning objectives]
The goals of this course are to learn history of immunology and to understand the molecular and cellular mechanisms of immune system and the relationship of immune system in diseases and therapies.

[Learning activities outside of classroom]
After each class meeting, students will be expected to spend 4 hours to understand the course content.

[Grading criteria/policies]
Your overall grade in the class will be decided as follows.
Term end examination: 40 %, Short test or reports: 40 %, in class contribution: 20 %
