Outline (in English)

Signal transduction in a cell or between cells is essential for any biological phenomena. The aim of this lecture is to learn general mechanisms underlying cellular signal transduction, with considerable emphasis on animal and bacterial environmental sensory systems, and approaches to study them, based on the knowledge gained from the lectures, Cell Biology I, II, Biological Chemistry I, II, Molecular Biology I, II, Biophysics I, II as well as Cell Structure and Function I, II, Protein Structure and Function I, II, and Genome Structure and Function I, II.
Review and deepen understanding of the material covered in class through handouts, standard textbooks, quizzes, etc.
The evaluation will be based on the mid-term exam (20%) and the final exam (70%), with a 10% regular grade added.
The evaluation criteria are as follows: Does the candidate understand the basic concepts of intracellular signal transduction mechanisms? Can the student apply this knowledge to the interpretation of specific cases?
