Outline (in English)

[Course outline] The genome is the blueprint of living organisms and contains genetic information contributing to differences in biological functions and phenotypes. This course introduces the scientific discoveries related to the basic structure and functions of genetic information and the methodologies associated with these discoveries.
[Learning Objectives] The objective of this course is to learn basic knowledge of molecular biology related to genomics and train to understand not only state-of-the-art genomic science but also develop this field of science.
[Learning activities outside of classroom] Students will be expected to have completed the required assignments after each class meeting. Your study time will be more than four hours for a class.
[Grading criteria] Final grade will be calculated with your work (30%), achievement (30%), and understanding (40%) in class assignments.
