Outline (in English)

【Course outline】In this class, You will be lectured on how women of the Heian period were written in narrative stories(Monogatari).By looking at the similarities and differences among the heroines in several works, you will be provided an overview of Heian-period tales. And you will also learn about the influences of the period on the works.【Learning Objectives】By the end of this course,you will learn basic knowledge about Monogatari of Heian-period,and deepen an understanding of the history of the development of narrative works.【Learning activities outside of classroom】Students will be expected to make a preparation of each lessons,and will be also expected to have reviewed of the last lesson.Your study time will be two hours each for preparation and review.【Grading Criteria/Policy】Grading will be decided based on short reports in class room(70%),and Test to check understanding at the end of the semester(30%).
