Outline (in English)

Course outline: The objective of this course is to cultivate the ability to observe, survey, analyze, and evaluate the building and urban environments surrounding us from a deep perspective. Building environment is related to climate, performance/design of buildings, performance/operation of building equipment, and human physiology/psychology/behavior. Understanding the relationship between these factors will deepen the understanding of built environments that can achieve an optimum balance between health, comfort, productivity, energy conservation, and CO2 emission.

Learning Objectives: The goal of the course is to learn a wide range of knowledge in architectural and urban environmental engineering and to acquire the ability to apply this knowledge.

Learning activities outside of classroom: The standard preparation and review time for this class is 2 hours each. In particular, students are encouraged to deepen their understanding before the next class if they do not have a sufficient understanding of the subject matter at the end of the class.

Grading Criteria /Policy: A comprehensive evaluation of the research and research reports (100%) will be performed.
