Outline (in English)

This lecture provides an overview of various ideas in the history of design, with a focus on modern and contemporary design. While touching on the technical skills and social systems that modern society has acquired on the way to modern design, the lecture also looks broadly at the cultural background of design, including its relationship to art.
By tracing back to domestic and international design philosophy, students will learn that philosophy is essential to design, and this will help them to acquire design literacy that will be useful to them in the future.
