Outline (in English)
Students will learn to write a variety of multi-paragraph composition types This intermediate-level writing course will offer a step-by-step approach for the successful development of English composition skills. on a number of familiar everyday topics. The course will also help students improve their written organization, sentence-level grammar, vocabulary, and mechanics. Students will also develop revision skills through self-editing and teacher's comments.
The goals of this writing class are to develop composition skills through the integration of reading and writing activities. Students will learn to write a variety of multi-paragraph composition types on a number of familiar everyday topics.
In the classroom and at home, students will work on exercises and improve succeeding drafts of their composition assignments. Students will also maintain a vocabulary notebook which they may use during the final composition exam. Pair work will be emphasized.
Written feedback will be given on each composition assignment, assessing important features such content, organization, transitions, language use, spelling, punctuation, and presentation.
Class participation/effort: 20%

授業時間外の学習(準備学習・復習・宿題等)Work to be done outside of class (preparation, etc.)
Students will be given weekly out-of-class homework assignments, which will comprise of grammar exercises and/or writing assignments. All composition assignments must be typed. Students are responsible for completing all homework assignments, even if they are absent. It is important that homework be completed on time. Late assignments will not receive full credit.
